08/JULY/2011: 50 Black bucks relocation for Kanha National Park
Environment ministry has given permission to relocation of 50 blackbucks from Nasinghgarh forest to Kanha National Park. Relocation is scheduled to winter season in this year. Blackbucks were disappeared from Kanha since 1990's.


07/JULY/2011: 12 Barasingha relocation from Kanha National Park
Forest department is planning to relocate 12 Barasingha from Kanha forest to Satpura National Park. They have attained permission from Central Government and are in a process to take adivce of wildlife experts to schedule the process. As if now, hard-ground barasinghas are only found in Kanha National Park and is in list of rare species. It is a good move.


10/APRIL/2010: 22 Tiger Cubs born in Kanha National Park, India.
Since last 15 months i.e. since January, 2009, about 22 Tiger cubs were born in Kanha Tiger Reserve. It is indeed a good news for all of us as we use to get dis-heartening news of decrease in Tiger population in India. It is not something unique, happened first time in Kanha Park. Tiger. Due to high mortality rate of tiger-cubs, it will be interesting to see how many of them survive and contribute in Tiger Population of India & World.


02/NOV/2009: Human Killing by Tiger in Kanha Forest
A eight years old boy was killed by a tiger of Kanha National Park in village Budhla Bichhia town in Mandla District of Madhya Pradesh State. Name of the boy was Devendra Dhurve. Incident took place on late evening of 06/Feb/2010. He was just outside his house. Mutilated body of boy was later found at 3km away from village in Sharkarghat area close to Hallon river. Tiger pugmark at the site confirmed the killing by tiger.


10/Feb/2010: Kanha Leopard Jailed
One of the leopard in Kanha Tiger Reserve is declared man-eater. He charged on human beings, 4 times in 4 years. Park management was keeping eye on its activities since long time and ultimately they make up their mind to declare the leopard as dangerous for human beings and send him to enclosure for rest of the life. Earlier he was active in Kanha Khatia Gate. When he was shifted to core zone, he remained aggressive towards human beings. Ultimately he was tranquilized in a village, close to Bichhia, in Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh State. On 09/Feb/2010, leopard was shifted from Kanha National Park to Van Vihar Zoological Park in Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh, about 490kms from Kanha National Park.
